Thank you for participating in this study. My name is Elijah and we are looking at the usability of Brave, a mobile browser app. I’ll give you some activities to try, and our hope is that you’ll be talking as you do these activities to let us know your thinking on what you’re doing.
With your permission, I’d like to record the session to make. The recording will only be used internally for this project, and any results we share will be anonymous. Is it OK for this to be recorded?
First, could you introduce yourself and just tell us a little about yourself?
Next, I’m going to give you a few tasks to perform. Go at your own pace, and think out loud about what you’re dong. There are no right or wrong ways to do the tasks - we just want to see how average users do these things.
Be open with your opinions about the app.
Any questions before we start?
You have just heard that an iOS web browser - called Brave - is both strong on security, and also makes it possible to have offline playlists of YouTube videos that can be played in the background while you use other apps. You are intrigued and want to try it out.
Find the Brave browser on the App Store and install it on your device.
Can you figure out how to control the level of security? What if a website does not work properly due to Brave’s blocking policies?
Visit YouTube and find a video featuring content you want to hear while doing something else. Download it to Brave’s local storage and organize a playlist. Play it in the background while you use other apps.
